Betrayal on Aruba Winds - The Book

A novel by Tracy Novinger

Rudyard Kipling once wrote that if history were told in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten. Three generations of a family lived on an island some 6 x 20 miles in size. WWII reached its shores. With this story, travel to a different time and place.

Published March, 2018.
Available on Amazon on Kindle and in print.

The story plunged me into a colorful cast of complex characters enmeshed in a plot that kept my interest to the end. What I admired in particular is the skillful way the author incorporates the WW II history of Aruba. I also liked the story's alternate perspectives between the adventurous but naive girl Alissia and the questioning adult she becomes. Because Alissia wrestles with guilt over her past misdeeds and questions the legacy of war on the island, she must return to Aruba for answers. The story's tension keeps building. References to Alice in Wonderland that are woven into the story give it an added dimension.

Australia: Traveling Down Under

Tropical rain forests in Queensland, Kakadu National Park with its ancient aboriginal art and snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef made our visit to Australia a real treat.

This endearing little Rock Wallaby liked being hand-fed
(special, healthy pellets provided by a ranger).

Confession...

Mea culpa. Most of my reports to check in during a two-and-one-half month séjour in France in late 2013 were chronicled on FaceBook. I was fickle here...
